Placing a Breakline element upon a 2D Grid forces the assignment of elevation to the intersected 2D grid cells. When a 2D Polyline has a Type set to the choice of Breakline, it supports 3D Polyline geometry. Therefore, by selecting […] for its Geometry, you can directly edit its X, Y, Z values. Each grid cell that is intersected by the line is assigned a surface elevation from the Breakline. The elevation value assigned to the center point of each underlying grid cell is linearly interpolated using the two nearest bend points (Z values) of the Breakline. This adjustment element is useful in modeling linear assets in an engineered landscape, such as levees, that are not well represented in a terrain model.
