Dimensions
|
- Thickness –
Sets the thickness for the clamp plates and the connection plates. Enter a
positive value to determine the thickness. A negative value or value of 0 is
not permitted. The default is 10 or 0.5 depending on the units setting.
- Clearance –
Sets the clamp plate dimension above the shape flange. Enter a positive value
to determine the length. A negative value is not permitted. The default is 0.
- Edge
Distance – Sets the distance from the outside edge of the clamp
plate to the hole center. Enter a positive or negative value to determine the
distance. The default is 20 or 1 depending on the units setting.
- Flange
Distance – Sets the distance from the outside edge of the flange to
the hole center. Enter a positive or negative value to determine the distance.
The default is 20 or 1 depending on the units setting.
Also displays a list of the available distances
which have been entered into the database. Select the required distance by
clicking on the entry in the list.
To predefine suitable connection data for the
different bolt sizes flange distance options can be managed in a database. When
the command is loaded, the database is checked and values meeting preset
conditions will be displayed in the list from which they can be selected.
The following fields can be specified and the
list is filtered by the bolt diameter.
- DIAMETER – Bolt
Diameter key for list filtering.
Numeric.
- OFFSET – Flange
Distance.
Numeric.
Only database entries which match the bolt size are
displayed.

Plate Width
|
- Calculate –
When checked, sets the clamp plate's width from the Connection and Support
values. When unchecked, the width is calculated to match the flange width minus
the internal flange radius.
- Connection –
Sets the width of the clamp plate connected to the support shape. Enter a
positive value to determine the upper offset. A negative value or value of 0
will produce undesired results. The default is 50 or 2 depending on the units
setting.
- Support – Sets
the width of the clamp plate connected to the support shape. Enter a positive
value to determine the upper offset. A negative value or value of 0 will
produce undesired results. The default is 50 or 2 depending on the units
setting.

Options
|
-
Group – When checked, the selected shape, gusset plates, brace
shapes and bolts are arranged to form a group. If the selected shape is already
part of an existing group then the created objects are added to that group.
- With
Bolts – Enabled for
Group. When checked, the bolts are added to
that group.
- Check
Flat File – When checked, the option checks the flat file shape
table for a shape which matches the specified gusset plate width and thickness
and uses a shape in preference to a plate. The shape database checked is
controlled by the setting of
DEFAULTWIDEFLATFILE in the
ProSteel 3D configuration file. Otherwise,
a plate is created.
- Tolerance –
Enabled when
Check Flat File is set. Sets the
tolerance for creation of flat.
