ASHRAE 90.1 (2004): Summary tab
Contains controls used to view a results summary of the project building’s compliance with the requirements of the ASHRAE 90.1 (2004) standard.
Setting | Description |
---|---|
Summary | Contains controls used to view a summary of the prescriptive results for compliance with the major portions of the ASHRAE 90.1 (2004) standard requirements as well as an overall standard compliance determination. The major portions of the standard are listed in the following sections. |
1) Building Envelope | Contains controls used to view a summary of the prescriptive
results for compliance with the Building Envelope portion of the ASHRAE 90.1
(2004) standard requirements. Building envelope is defined as the exterior plus
the semi-exterior portions of the building. The term building envelope
exterior refers to the elements of the
building that separate conditioned spaces from the exterior. The term building
envelope
semi-exterior refers to the elements of
the building that separate conditioned spaces from unconditioned spaces or that
enclose semi-heated spaces through which thermal energy may be transferred to
or from the exterior, or to or from unconditioned spaces, or to or from
conditioned spaces.
|
2) Lighting | Contains controls used to view a summary of the prescriptive
results for compliance with the Lighting portion of the ASHRAE 90.1 (2004)
standard requirements. Building lighting includes all interior spaces of the
building, exterior building features, including facades, illuminated roofs,
architectural features, entrances, exits, loading docks, and illuminated
canopies; and exterior building grounds lighting provided through the
building's electrical service.– Compliance is achieved if the lighting systems
and equipment satisfy the general requirements and mandatory provisions for
lighting controls, tandem lighting wiring, exit signs, exterior grounds
lighting and exterior lighting power allowances as described in
section 9 of the ASHRAE 90.1 (2004)
standard, using either the Building Area Method or Space-By-Space Method
compliance paths.
|
3) HVAC | Contains controls used to view a summary of the prescriptive
results for compliance with the HVAC portion of the ASHRAE 90.1 (2004) standard
requirements. An HVAC system is the equipment, distribution systems, and
terminals that provide, either collectively or individually, the processes of
heating, ventilating, or air conditioning to the building or portion of the
building.– Compliance is achieved if the HVAC systems satisfy the general
requirements, the minimum equipment efficiencies, the submittal of all
compliance documents, and either the mandatory provisions and prescriptive path
or the Simplified Approach Option for HVAC Systems (alternative compliance path
for low rise buildings which have a single HVAC zone among their requirements)
as described in
section 6 of the ASHRAE 90.1 (2004)
standard

4) Water Heating | Contains controls used to view a summary of the prescriptive results for compliance with the Service Water Heating portion of the ASHRAE 90.1 (2004) standard requirements. Service Water Heating refers to water which is heated for domestic or commercial purposes other than space heating and HVAC processes. Displays Pass, Fail or N/A (see Exceptions to... in the standard). To pass, the Service Water Heating equipment must satisfy all related section 6 requirements. |
Overall ASHRAE 90.1 Compliance | Displays Pass or Fail. If it displays Pass, the Building satisfies the overall requirements of the ASHRAE 90.1 (2004) standard. |
