To Import and Recreate a Curve Element as a Node
- Import a file that contains a simple curve by selecting [File Type].
- Select the desired file in Import dialog and click Open.

Select the element and click
(Promote To
Node ).
The curve transfers the geometry from an unusable element to a GenerativeComponents node. Notice that GenerativeComponents automatically identifies the curve's poles and first recreates them as points. Then the curve is defined as a B-spline curve with the newly created points as poles. GenerativeComponents also assigns the same active symbology of the imported element to the B-spline curve node, including line style, line weight, color, and MicroStation level.

Click the
Record recent model changes as a new
transaction tool from the Transactions dialog.
All changes to the poles are recorded in the transaction file and can be replayed like any other node.
