Connecting to Oracle
The Oracle Connect dialog is used to establish a connection to Oracle. It can be opened directly from the Database Connection ribbon group.
- User – The Oracle User name
- Password – The Oracle password
- Use Windows Integrated Authentication – If checked, you will be logged in with your Windows username and password, if Windows Integrated Authentication is configured.
- Service Name – If checked, uses the Oracle service name to identify the database
- Service – Provide the Oracle service name
- Connect Descriptor – If checked, provide the connect descriptor to identify the database
- Host – The host computer on which the database is running
- Port – The port used by the database
- Service – The service name of the database
When defining a graphical source as an Oracle connection in OpenCities Geospatial Administrator, the Build Connection dialog provides additional options.
- Connection Name: - The name for the graphical source
- Description: - An optional description
- Connection Type - Sets the Connection Parameter options; Select from Oracle Connect Descriptor or Oracle Service Name
- Host - The host computer on which the database is running
- Port: - The port used by the database
- Service or Service Name - The service name of the database
- User - The Oracle User name
- Password: - The Oracle password
- Use Windows Integrated Authentication - If checked, you will be logged in with your Windows username and password, if Windows Integrated Authentication is configured
